Our Parents and citizens association (P&C) is a group of interested parents and community members that work to support the students, teachers and school. The real strength of the P&C comes from the ideas, dedication and energy put in by all the parents who make up the membership.

The Panania north Public School P&C meet on the first Monday of every month at 7:00pm. Check the school newsletter or P&C Facebook page for meeting dates.

The P&C's objectives are to:

  • Promote the interest of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation
  • Assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school
  • Encourage parent and community participation in curriculum and other education issues in schools
  • Report, when requested by the Minister, on the material requirements of the school and advise about maintenance of the school, alterations and additions to school facilities and the selection of new sites
  • Assist and co-operate with teaching staff at public functions associated with the school
  • Be responsible for the election of parent representatives to any school council constituted at the school in consultation with the principal of the school.

Various fundraising events and activities are co-ordinated by the P&C and run by volunteers to help achieve these objectives.

Membership

The P&C is always keen to welcome new members! Membership of the P&C is open to everyone – parents, caregivers, grandparents, teachers, and the community generally. To join, simply attend a P&C meeting and pay a membership fee ($1). This entitles you to vote on motions and decisions about spending P&C funds.

Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)

Our P&C is an Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) registered charity.

The Panania North Publich School P&C complies with its obligations to the ACNC (an independent national regulator of charities) and is eligible to use the registered charity tick.

The presence of our school P&C on the ACNC Charity Register should give parents reassurance that the P&C is transparent and accountable.

Please check the Register to find out more details about our P&C.

Meetings

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend meetings. They are friendly, and a great way to find out what is happening at school. No one is pressured to do anything at meetings - feel free to just sit and listen. Meetings are held in the office on the first Monday of every month. A sample agenda of the minutes can be found here.
